Vitamin Program (2011)

This post was moved to Natural Right from the Light Stop blog. It is a record of the vitamins I took at the start of 2011. Some have changed since then.

I’ve noticed an improvement in my health this last year and attribute it in part to taking vitamins. Here’s the type of vitamins I try to take daily.

Aloe Vera Juice – Fruit of the Earth makes a 99.9% pure aloe vera juice and their products are readily available at stores such as Wal-Mart. Aloe Vera Juice has many benefits including these top ten benefits.
Calcium/Magnesium- Thorne Research makes a citrus powder that has both Calcium and Magnesium. One thing people often don’t realize is that just taking Calcium without Magnesium can be counter productive. Our bones need Magnesium to help process the Calcium properly.
IodineDesigns for Health provides Iodine Synergy that is just the right amount (10mg). Iodine is an essential mineral for the thyroid and has other benefits as well. Our society is correctly warning about the danger of salt but we still need Iodine in our bodies.
Multiple Vitamin -I have tried various brands of multiple vitamins but this year will be taking One A Day Men’s Health Formula from Bayer Health Care.
Omega-3 Fish Oil- I use Natrol brand that has a lemon flavor to it. Omega-3 is believed to support heart, eye, and bone health. It is anti-flammatory which means it is ideal for pain and is being studied for a link to the prevention of Alzheimers if taken prior to onset (though it may not cure it once it has started).
Super Fruit- I use Schiff brand with noni, mangosteen, acai, and pomegranate. This is a powerful antioxidant that boosts immune health.
Vitamin B- Source Naturals makes a Conenzymate B Complex. Many are unaware that the stomach kills most of the Vitamin B sent to it, so a conenzymate really is in the best form for Vitamin B as it enters the bloodstream through the tongue.

Vitamin C -Ester-C is the brand of Vitamin C I take. The immune system benefits of Vitamin C are critical.

Vitamin D – Thorne Research makes an excellent Vitamin D product that has 5,000 units, which seems to be just the right amount. I rarely spend time in the sun, working inside an office building during the day and living in Michigan (enough said), so this is the only way I get the all important Vitamin D.
